Marco Spissu is set to embark on his second career venture outside of Italy, signing with Zaragoza, a member of the Liga Endesa.
This decision comes after parting ways with Venezia upon the expiration of his contract. He signs the two-year deal.
Marco Spissu will join Zaragoza following his commitments with the Italian national team, which is striving to secure a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris through the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico.
Throughout his career, Spissu has donned the jerseys of several Italian clubs, including Dinamo Sassari, Virtus Bologna, Derthona Basket, and Reyer Venice. Although he initially agreed to a two-year deal with Unicaja Malaga for the 2021-22 season, he ultimately did not join the team. Instead, he made his debut in the EuroLeague with UNICS Kazan, where he averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 assists per game.
Following his sole season in Russia, Spissu returned to Italy to play for Venezia, where he remained until the end of the 2023-24 season. In the recent EuroCup campaign, Marco Spissu posted impressive stats, averaging 12.7 points, 5.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 60.4% from two-point range and 45.6% from three-point range.
Spissu’s move to Zaragoza represents a new chapter in his career, where his playmaking skills and shooting prowess will be crucial assets for his new team in the competitive Liga Endesa.
