Mark Cuban, a minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, spoke after his team’s loss in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Kyrie Irving, the Dallas Mavericks’ renowned player, has found himself amidst controversy in the past due to his perspectives on the Jewish community and the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Mark Cuban, who has Jewish heritage, defended his player: “Kyrie Irving loves Israel. I’ve never met a person with so much love in him. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with him, and he never has any bad intentions. He wants to support everyone, Israelis, as well as all other groups of people. He seeks peace.”
He then commented on whether Irving might celebrate with the Israeli flag in the event of winning the title.
“I’ve talked to Irving about this situation, about Hamas, and I told him that terrorism is terrorism. As for the flag, I’d love to see that,” Cuban concluded with a smile.
In the meantime, the Dallas Mavericks also lost Game 2 of the finals, making it 2-0 for the Boston Celtics. The next game will be played between Wednesday and Thursday with a start time of 02:30.
