Serbian national team player Marko Guduric talk about everything seen in the game in the FIBA World Cup quarterfinals against Lithuania.
Guduric specifically praised the performance of Stefan Jovic. The former Crvena Zvezda point guard made three three-pointers and dished out five assists, along with some exceptional defensive plays. This contributed to the convincing victory over the Baltic team.
“Jovke is excellent. He’s missed in the EuroLeague. I miss him. I miss watching him in the elite competition; he’s one of the few point guards who prioritize their teammates. In addition, he’s always present on defense. I hope to see him in the EuroLeague soon,” said Marko Guduric.
Guduric recorded nine points, six assists, and three rebounds but didn’t want to highlight himself.
“I dedicate this victory to our teammate Borisa Simanic. We will continue to fight in this way until the last minute,” said the Fenerbahce guard, who brought extra energy off the bench.
The second unit’s importance is evident in the fact that they scored 38 points, which had a significant impact on the outcome of the game, as mentioned by Serbia’s head coach, Svetislav Pesic, in his post-game remarks.
With this victory, Serbia could already secure a spot in the Olympics if both the USA and Canada win their respective games. The outcome of the Canada vs. Slovenia match will determine who faces Serbia in the semifinals.
