Marko Guduric, a player of Fenerbahce, suffered an injury in Game 1 of the semifinal series against Besiktas in the Turkish Super League.
Despite Fenerbahce securing a convincing win, the Serbian national team player sustained a right groin injury at the start of the final quarter, forcing him to head straight to the locker room.
“Our player Marko Guduric sustained a groin injury against Besiktas. After a hospital examination, a first-degree muscle injury was discovered, and treatment has begun,” announced the Turkish club in an official statement the day after the game.
It has not been specified how long Guduric will be out of action or if he will be able to return by the end of the season to help his teammates in their quest to reclaim the Turkish Super League trophy.
If the injury turns out to be more serious, it could potentially pose a problem for the Serbian national team head coach, Svetislav Pesic. The Serbian national team is preparing for the Olympic Games, which begin on July 26.
