Baskonia secured a win over Maccabi Tel Aviv by 92:82 in the EuroLeague Round 25.
Maccabi Tel Aviv had a better start to the game in Vitoria. Wade Baldwin played a key role in the away team’s lead at the end of the first quarter (26:20). The incredible Markus Howard continued to showcase an outstanding performance, undoubtedly being the key player in Baskonia’s lead. The American scored 20 points by halftime, and Baskonia went into the break with a seven-point advantage (54:47).
At one point in the third quarter, Baskonia obtained their largest lead of 19 points, but Maccabi Tel Aviv managed to reduce the deficit with a 9:0 run before the final break, making the score 73:63. Baskonia quickly secured the win in the fourth quarter, and all Maccabi Tel Aviv managed to do by the end was to reduce the significant deficit.
Markus Howard was the top scorer for Baskonia with 26 points. Chima Moneke finished the game with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Baskonia is now in the ninth position on the table with a record of 13-12, while Maccabi Tel Aviv is in the 10th place with the same performance (13-12).
