Panathinaikos continued their battle with Olympiacos for the top spot in the Greek league with a win over AS Karditsas, while PAOK suffered their fourth consecutive loss.
The Green Team triumphed by 87:64, justifying their role as favorites. On the other hand, PAOK couldn’t match Kolossos Rhodes on the road, falling 95:79.
For the majority of the first half, AS Karditsas managed to keep pace with Panathinaikos. However, in the final two minutes, they allowed an 8:0 run, significantly impacting the remainder of the game. By the middle of the third quarter, Ergin Ataman’s team had built a 21-point lead, making it clear they would secure another convincing victory, which they ultimately did.
Panathinaikos has been defeated only once in their last nine games across all competitions, with that sole loss coming in the final of the Greek Cup against Olympiacos.
Leading the way to win was Mathias Lessort with 16 points and eight rebounds, supported by Dinos Mitoglou with 15 points and seven rebounds. In the losing effort, Shaq Buchanan and Ray Jr. McCallum each scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, PAOK suffered their fourth consecutive loss after being outplayed by Kolossos Rhodes with a score of 95:79. Both teams now have a record of 8 wins and 12 losses.
