American coach Mike Budenholzer has officially been introduced as the new head coach of the Phoenix Suns in the NBA.
Budenholzer will replace Frank Vogel, who was dismissed after his team was swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the Western Conference.
‘I would go anywhere to lead this team – to the Moon, Alaska, or Denmark… We have some excellent players, like Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal. They know I have high expectations of them. We want to be competitors, to compete, compete, and compete. That is our identity,’ said Budenholzer
The expert from Arizona, where the franchise he has found his new job is based, mentioned the style of play he wants from the Phoenix Suns.
‘We want to be a team that plays selflessly, that sticks together. We want to be a team, for players to get better day by day. We are focused on what we do every day, and that will give us a chance to see what potential we have, so we can become a championship team,’ emphasized Budenholzer.
This is the third time in the last three seasons that the Phoenix Suns have changed their coach. Besides Budenholzer and Vogel, Monty Williams was also there.
