Mike James has sparked the imagination of the black-and-white camp on several occasions, and now he has cleared up all doubts for the Greek ‘Sport24‘.
After a video of him talking to coach Zeljko Obradovic during a visit to the Monaco became viral last season, and they recently greeted each other in a friendly manner in Belgrade, speculation about a potential engagement began. The best player of the French team explained his relationship with the head coach of Partizan, but also shared some insights into the routine he follows after each game.
“Just because I hugged the coach after the game doesn’t mean anything. I hugged Sarunas Jasikevicius when we played against Fenerbahce, Georgios Bartzokas after Olympiacos, Zeljko Obradovic after Partizan. After every game, I hug the coach.
Well, I don’t know what to tell you. That’s Obradovic; everyone wants to talk to him. Similarly, everyone wants to talk to me, so our relationship is pretty good. He’s another coach with whom the camera caught me talking, so people draw conclusions based on that,” explained the American guard. He then responded to a question about his relationship with coach Sasa Obradovic:
“I’m burdened by a lot of stereotypes that I’m not on good terms with coaches. People conclude that for some reason. Sasa Obradovic is generally an lively person, can be sharp. I have moments when I’m like that too, so people automatically assume that we’re constantly in conflict. In fact, it’s all very simple, and we get along just fine,” clarified Mike James.
