Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone spoke about Nikola Jokic after another dominant performance in the NBA league.
Mike Malone praised his best player, primarily for his defensive efforts, even though Jokic played an offensive game against the Toronto Raptors that hadn’t been seen in history.
“What’s exhausting is that people criticize Nikola’s defense because he doesn’t average three blocks per game. But if you’re a true basketball fan and follow the game, you see that he may have the best hands in the NBA. He’ll never out-jump someone athletically, but he’ll outsmart them. Exceptional anticipation. Great hands. And I think he’s one of the most underrated defenders in the entire NBA,” Malone said.
The Colorado team’s strategist also spoke about Jamal Murray, who also had a notable performance with 26 points and 12 assists:
“He had a good game, and that’s really important when you can have a good scoring game. The next thing you know, you have two defenders in front of you, then you need to have the courage to pass and trust your teammates. That’s an important part of his game.”
