Mike Malone, the head coach of the Denver Nuggets, spoke after the tough loss in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals, where the Minnesota Timberwolves triumphed 106:80.
The head coach of the current NBA champions was very candid, almost brutally honest, at the beginning of his remarks.
“They kicked our ass! They took the initiative. It’s going to be a big challenge for us. The body language of the players is nowhere near where it should be. We got beat at home, embarrassed ourselves in front of our fans,” Mike Malone started.
The fans in Ball Arena were dissatisfied, and understandably so. However, the American coach asked the fans to stay with them during this difficult time.
“I would ask our fans to stay with us. I know things don’t look good right now, I know there were boos, and I understand that very well because we didn’t play anywhere near the level expected of this team. But stay with us, believe in us, we’ve done a lot of good things,” Malone concluded.
