Milano suffered its fifth defeat in this season’s Serie A, losing to Sassari by 89:83 in the 10th round.
The last triumph for the Milano was on November 24th in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda. Since then, Ettore Messina’s team has experienced three consecutive losses, two in the domestic league and one against Zalgiris in the previous EuroLeague round.
Despite the absence of the injured Nikola Mirotic in all three matches, these results certainly do not quiet the already sounding alarms in the fashion capital

Sassari received a practice session in the previous round from Pistoia, who outplayed Armani in Milan. Sassari started strong from the beginning, winning the first quarter 20-14.
The home team didn’t slow down until halftime, while on the other side, Milano struggled in the attack. In the first 20 minutes, the guests had a three-point shooting record of 1/14. The halftime score was 41-30.
Messina’s team’s offense came to life in the second half, specifically, Shavon Shields warmed up and tried to bring his team back into the game. The guests came close towards the end, trailing by just one point, but they missed their chances for a comeback.
The top scorer for the winning team was Breein Tyree with 24 points, while Shields was convincingly the best for Milano with 31 points.
Milano faces a double round in the EuroLeague, meeting Bayern in Munich and Partizan in Belgrade.
