There is a complete turnaround in the third quarter, as the visitors stage a comeback and win that period by a margin of plus 15, scoring 29 points.
Once again, the home team performed better in the final quarter, managing to take the lead through the outstanding play of Isaia Cordinier. However, Shabazz Napier made a three-pointer with 33 seconds remaining to tie the game. Napier had a shot for the win, but he was blocked by Alessandro Pajola, sending the game into overtime.
Shavon Shields played unbelievably in overtime, hitting three consecutive three-pointers. Virtus had no answer to that, so it was clear that the visiting team would secure the win in this game.
In Virtus, the top performer was Tornike Shengelia, with 16 points, while Isaia Cordinier and Marco Belinelli each contributed 11 points. For Ettore Messina’s team, Shavon Shields stood out with 25 points, supported by Shabazz Napier, who added 21points.
The next game of this series will be played on Saturday at 20:30, with the host once again being the team from Bologna.
