In the sixth round of the Italian Serie A, Milano easily dealt with the last-placed team in the league, Brindisi, whom they defeated 87-57.
At halftime, the guests had a 36-26 lead, and they sealed the game in their favor in the third quarter, where they had an insurmountable 64-37 advantage.
Stefano Tonut led the visitors with 16 points, and Nikola Mirotic didn’t play. Shavon Shields, Giordano Bortolani, and Alex Poythress each contributed 11 points.
On Dragan Sakota’s team, Eric Lombardi and Joonas Riismaa scored 10 points each.
In the first game of Sunday’s program, Pistoia defeated Venezia 85-77 on their home court, handing Neven Spahija’s team their first loss of the season in the domestic league.
Jordon Varnado played an excellent game for the home team, scoring 26 points and leading his team to another win this season. Charlie Moore contributed 18 points, and Tarell Willis added 15.
On the other side, Amadeo Tessitori was the top performer with 21 points, and Rayjon Tucker scored 18.
The team from Bologna lost to Cremona with a score of 93:83 on their away game
The team of Luca Banchi won the first quarter 23:21, but in the next 10 minutes, they performed below their season average. Cremona took advantage of this and went into halftime with a +9 lead (46:37).
Despite expectations of a better performance by Virtus in the second half, it wasn’t the case in the third quarter, which the Italian vice-champions lost 25:15.
Virtus played better in the final 10 minutes, but they didn’t have the strength for a complete comeback.
Grant Golden was the top scorer for Cremona with 22 points. Tornike Shengelia had 14 for Virtus, while Ognjen Dobric added 11 points and three rebounds.
