Monaco defeated Le Portel on their home court by 101:67 in the 30th round of the LNB Pro A, securing their 28th win.
Sasa Obradovic’s team settled the question of the winner in the first quarter. They won that quarter with 31:13, clearly indicating to the visitors that they wouldn’t stand a chance. Interestingly, the lead grew to a huge +30 by halftime (57:27). In the second half, we saw a routine completion of the game as Monaco comfortably closed out the game.
Monaco was led to win by Jaron Blossomgame with 18 points and Matthew Strazel with 16 points. Obradovic managed to distribute the minutes in this game, which will be significant ahead of the EuroLeague quarterfinals against Fenerbahce. In Le Portel’s team, David DiLeo scored 18 points, while Phlandrous Fleming added 17.
Monaco has already secured the first position before the start of the playoffs, with a record of 28 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Le Portel has 16 wins and 14 losses and will continue to fight for a spot among the top eight.
Monaco will host Cholet in the next round, while Le Portel will visit Dijon.
