Monaco secured their eighth win in the LNB league by defeating Strasbourg on the road by 83:67.
This marks the fourth consecutive win for Sasa Obradovic’s team, following their victory over Bourg in the previous round of the league, as well as wins in the double round of the EuroLeague against Crvena Zvezda and Alba Berlin.
Notably, Nakye Sanders was absent from the home team’s lineup, while Jordan Loyd and Kemba Walker were sidelined for Monaco.
In the first quarter, Monaco already had a 13-point lead, but the home team made a late surge in the last two minutes, entering the second quarter with only a six-point deficit. Strasbourg continued to play well in the following quarters and managed to take the lead by halftime with a three-point advantage.
However, the home team’s celebration was short-lived as Monaco got their act together in the second half, regaining a double-digit lead after 30 minutes of play (45:58). In the final quarter, Massimo Cancellieri’s team attempted a comeback, but the visitors played just enough to secure a comfortable victory.
Terry Tarpey was the top scorer for Monaco with 20 points, while Matthew Strazel contributed 19. In Strasbourg, Phil Booth scored 17 points.
Asvel – Roanne
In their first game following T.J. Parker’s departure, Asvel ended a four-game losing streak by defeating Roanne 93:88.
The team, now led by Parker’s assistant, Pierric Poupet, had a slow start in this match, losing the first quarter 26:25. Thanks to a stronger defensive effort, they went into halftime with a one-point lead.
Roanne performed better in the third quarter and managed to equalize entering the final 10 minutes. It was there that Nando De Colo took matters into his own hands, making some clutch shots to secure the victory for his team.
De Colo led Asvel with 20 points, while Jordan Tucker scored 19 points for the visitors.
