Surprisingly, the visitors had an almost perfect first quarter and went into the break with a seven-point lead (23-16). Monaco countered with a 9-0 run to regain control of the game, leading 41-38 at halftime.
Obradović’s team extended their lead to double digits in the third quarter, making it clear that they would secure the victory (68-56). Monaco calmly maintained their advantage in the fourth quarter to close out the game.
Alpha Diallo had a fantastic game for Monaco, scoring 16 points. However, the spotlight should be on Jordan Loyd, who returned to the court after a lengthy absence. The American scored 15 points, signaling that he will be a crucial component in Obradovi’sc team during the season.
Four Gravelines players finished the game with double-digit performances, but Vafessa Fofana had the most impressive showing with 19 points.
Monaco remains the leader in the standings with a record of 9-0, while Gravelines is in the relegation zone with nine losses (0-9).
In the next round, “Les Rouges et Blancs” will visit Nancy, while Gravelines will seek their first win of the season against Le Mans.
