Monaco defeated Gravelines 72:68 on the road in the LNB Pro A, in the 25th round, which is currently underway.
The opening quarter was in favor of the visitors by 23:17, which was an excellent starting point for the continuation of the match. However, Gravelines had other plans. Similar to Olympiacos from last season’s Final Four, they stopped their opponents to single-digit points in the quarter, limiting Monaco to only eight points in the second half.
This served as a wake-up call for Sasa Obradovic’s team, which went into halftime trailing by eight points, prompting expectations of a comeback.
Expectations were soon fulfilled. Monaco took control of the third quarter with a 14-point lead (24:10) and regained control of the game. Despite the home team’s resistance, Obradovic’s team managed to maintain their lead and secure the win.
The main contributors to the win were John Brown and Alpha Diallo, each scoring 13 points, while the home team was led by Michael Stockton with 12 points.
