A bizarre situation unfolded in the LNB Pro A where Monaco had their win stripped due to a suspended player being on the court.
An incredible oversight by Sasa Obradovic’s team. During the game against Strasbourg, regular team member Jaron Blossomgame was on the court despite being suspended. He received a penalty in the French Cup semifinal, thus illegally participating in the game against Strasbourg, which was consequently awarded the win.
This doesn’t pose a significant problem for Monaco, though. They now have 24 wins and five losses, still comfortably leading the table. On the other hand, Strasbourg has 15 wins and 14 losses.
The other French EuroLeague team, Asvel, has been fined €8,175 for ‘failure to respond to the order of Article 76 of the regulations on the transmission of contractual documents.’ The French Federation discovered that a ‘private contract’ was signed with one or more players. Consequently, Metropolitans has also been penalized.
