Monaco wants to purchase a multi-year EuroLeague license and build its new arena, as reported by BasketNews.
Monaco has been performing exceptionally well since qualifying for the EuroLeague and wants to secure its place in the elite on a long-term basis. The construction of a new, larger arena, which would become the home of the team, has been announced. To make the entire project meaningful, it would be logical for Monaco to become a permanent member of the EuroLeague.
It’s worth noting that the team from the Principality has reached the EuroLeague playoffs for the third consecutive season, and they even made it to the Final Four in the previous season. With a budget of around 8.3 million euros net, allocated for player and coaching staff salaries, Monaco ranks among the top 10 EuroLeague teams in terms of budget.
With an A license, the investments would likely increase, and Monaco would become one of the favorites to win the EuroLeague in the coming seasons.
