Led by Djordje Gagic, Lietkabelis defeated Rytas by 94:86, securing their place in the final of the Lithuanian Cup.
Rytas started the game stronger, quickly gaining a double-digit lead of 19:8. They managed to maintain this advantage throughout the first half. Nenad Canak’s team narrowed the gap to 23:20 early in the second quarter, but Rytas resisted the pressure and held a double-digit lead at halftime (41:31).
Right from the start of the second half, it was clear that Lietkabelis came out with much better energy. They gradually eroded Rytas’ lead throughout the entire third quarter, eventually managing to level the score at 58:58.
In the fourth quarter, Djordje Gagic took center stage. The Serbian center had already played a significant role for the Panavezys team, but at the beginning of the fourth quarter, he managed to draw fouls on Justin Gorham and Javin DeLaurier. Rytas’ players had no solution for Gagic, and he completely dominated in the paint, ultimately leading Lietkabelis to win.
Gagic was the most efficient player of the game, scoring 31 points and adding 10 rebounds. He shot 10/12 from the field, resulting in an impressive efficiency rating of 44. He also received significant support from Deividas Syrvidis, who contributed 18 points, and Gediminas Orelik with 13.
In the losing team, Marcus Foster scored 23 points, while Lithuanian national team player Margiris Normantas added 14. Martynas Echodas achieved a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
In the final, Lietkabelis will face the winner of the game between Zalgiris and Siauliai.
