Monty Williams, the head coach of the Detroit Pistons, is expected to stay with the Michigan based team in the upcoming season.
Per Marc Stein, the experienced head coach will stay in the Motor City, despite his team having a historically bad season. He was hired last year and has $80 million left on his contract.
If Monty Williams were to be fired, there were rumors linking him to the Los Angeles Lakers, but it appears he will remain with the Pistons.
The past season was tough for Detroit, as they posted the worst record in the NBA at 14-68, including a 28-game losing streak early on. The Pistons haven’t made the playoffs since the 2018-19 season.
