Monty Williams could be a potential option for the Los Angeles Lakers, if the Detriot Pistons decide to let him go.
JJ Redick is the absolute frontrunner for the job right now, but per Marc Stein of ESPN, Williams is an option if the team from Motor City decides to fire him.
The Pistons are going through a major renovation. Trajan Langdon is the new head of basketball operations and the franchise is expected to part ways with GM Troy Weaver.
Monty Williams has already been linked with the Lakers job before. Back in 2019 before the Los Angeles based team hired Frank Vogel, the former New Orleans Pelicans head coach was heavily linked with the team. Instead, he was hired by the Phoenix Suns, and after that he reached the NBA Finals with that team.
Currently he is on a $73 million contract that is running through the next six years.
