Mornar is currently the worst-performing team in the ABA League, and it’s a fact that the club from Bar is still searching for viable solutions.
After 11 games played in the ABA League, they have only managed to secure one victory. Just before the last round against Cedevita Olimpija, Feron Hunt was enlisted to wear Mornar’s jersey. However, he was released after just one game.
“After just a few minutes on the court in the game against Cedevita Olimpija, the former New York Knicks player will not continue his career with pride in Bar.
There were high hopes for Hunt that his experience and impressive physical attributes would help Mornar survive in the ABA League, but in practice, it turned out to be quite the opposite.
Recall that Hunt was even in the starting five for Mornar against Cedevita Olimpija. He appeared quite disinterested on the court, as reflected in the statistics (0/5 field goals, three turnovers in just under 17 minutes on the court),” the club statement said.
Head coach Mihailo Pavicevic hinted at changes during the press conference after the game against Cedevita Olimpija:
“It’s not easy at all. Games are coming one after another. From this group of players, we will see who will stay, who will leave. For those I decide to keep, I believe we can maintain our ABA League status with them,” said Mihailo Pavicevic in his characteristic style.
If someone has briefly touched an NBA jersey, they think they’re an alien. They view European basketball from that perspective. At least 50% of NBA players can’t play in the EuroLeague. It’s challenging for them to understand and explain. The ABA League is one of the toughest leagues in Europe. I tried to convey that to them, but some players find it hard to accept.”
