In the quarterfinals of the Leaders Cup, Asvel was defeated by Nanterre with 82:78, while Bourg was dominant against Nancy with 109:79.
Although Asvel had a significant lead of 23:15 after the first ten minutes of basketball, they experienced a major drop in their game. Nanterre capitalized on this, reducing the deficit to 38:34 by halftime. In the second half, they took a commanding 11-point lead (51:40). However, Asvel had a ready response, bringing the score to a narrow 55:54 before the decisive period.
The EuroLeague team turned the game in their favor at the start of the final quarter, leading by two possessions on several occasions. However, Nanterre didn’t give up, and with excellent shooting percentages inside the arc, they achieved a remarkable comeback and a significant triumph in the end.
The main contributor to the win was Ibrahima Fall-Faye, scoring 24 points with six rebounds (10/15 from the field). American guard Justin Bibbins added 17 points, while Desi Rodriguez finished with 14. Joffrey Lauvergne led Asvel with 14 points and six rebounds, while Nando De Colo ended with 13 points and eight assists.
In the second game of the day, Bourg dominated over Nancy, thus securing their spot in the Leaders Cup semifinals, where they will face Nanterre.
The standout performer for Bourg was Maksim Salash with 23 points. Jeremy Morgan contributed 15 points, while Bodian Massa was excellent with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
In the defeated team, the top scorer was Bruno Cingala-Mata with 17 points. Anthony Labanca contributed 14 points, while Caleb Walker added 13.
