Nebojsa Covic, the president of Crvena Zvezda, spoke on various topics related to the eternal rivals in the “Indirektno” show on K1 television.
He talked about the budget Crvena Zvezda had in the current season.
“When were we in the Top 8? This year we were in 16th place, and your colleagues and you mention that we received a lot of money and didn’t do anything. For me, the bottom of the table is anything below ninth place. I think both of us are in the bottom of the table. We didn’t play in the Super Cup, Partizan did.
Partizan didn’t win the Super Cup, it was won by Studentski centar. We won the Cup, we are first in the ABA League. We played in the EuroLeague, I really want Partizan to enter the Top 10. Our player budget is 12.2 million euros gross. We don’t have secret contracts with players and coaches. If that offends someone, then we are not talking about money. We should talk about it, that everything is transparent, especially the money given by the state.”
“You know who brought in that hatred”
Nebojsa Covic says he doesn’t harbor hatred towards Partizan.
“I understand your comment as a Partizan fan and that projection that I hate Partizan. I don’t harbor hatred towards Partizan because I spent eight years there. I am the president of Crvena Zvezda and I fight for it to the maximum. You know who brought in that hatred. We work with the fans to reduce insults. We didn’t support the insults towards Novica, nor the insults towards Nedovic and his wife, who is pregnant.
We have other reactions that our fans also build upon. It’s not related to me, it has been going on for many years. I’m sorry if you think I hate Partizan, but I think people from the Partizan Management must approach some things differently. It’s important that we come together around some common interests.”
