Nebojsa Covic, president of Crvena Zvezda, spoke to RTS about the ambitions for the remaining part of the season.
The team from Mali Kalemegdan currently has a record of four wins and nine losses in the EuroLeague. In the ABA League, they have suffered only one defeat, against Partizan, for a record of 10-1 in the current competitive season.
“To win the ABA League, the Serbian Super League, the Radivoj Korac Cup, and to achieve the best possible result in the EuroLeague. Yes, reaching the Final Four of the EuroLeague was an expectation, and it is not excluded yet. Last year at this time, we had a 7-6 record, and we didn’t plan on anything.
This year, we have a worse record, 4-9, but we’ll see. I want to invite our fans to come in large numbers to the game against Alba. We will soon play against Real Madrid and then against Maccabi,” said Nebojsa Covic, continuing:
“As for the budget, it’s not small, with great gratitude to the state because we wouldn’t achieve anything without the state. But when we look at other sports, our budget is the cost of three average football players. Today, Manchester City is coming; imagine how much they cost even though they are coming with their second or third team.”
