Nemanja Bjelica, the returning player for Crvena Zvezda, has suffered a injury just before the start of the season.
According to “Sportal,” the forward has suffered a calf injury which will keep him off the court for at least a week. It’s not as severe as initially thought.
Due to Nemanja Bjelica injury, it wouldn’t be surprising if Crvena Zvezda considers returning to the market in an attempt to strengthen their frontcourt.
Bjelica arrived in Belgrade this summer from Fenerbahce. Last year, he spent almost the entire season on the sidelines due to an injury, which led to him no longer being in Dimitris Itoudis plans. He returned to the ranks of the Crvena Zvezda for the first time in over a decade.
In his amazing career, he also played for the Golden State Warriors, with whom he won an NBA championship ring in 2022. In the NBA, he was also a member of the Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves. In Europe, he wore the jerseys of Fenerbahce and Baskonia on two occasions, and he began his career in Austria.
He was highly successful with the Serbian national team, winning a silver medal at the 2014 FIBA World Cup and another silver medal at the 2009 EuroBasket. Among his individual awards, he was named the Euroleague MVP in the 2015 season.
