Dejounte Murray is being acquired by the New Orleans Pelicans from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels, and E.J. Liddell.
Dejounte Murray, 27, achieved a personal best this past season by averaging 22.5 points per game along with 6.4 assists. Throughout his seven-year NBA career, which includes five seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, he has averaged 15.4 points per game.
Atlanta acquired Murray in 2022, trading three first-round picks to the Spurs in hopes of creating a strong backcourt with Trae Young.

Despite their scoring prowess, the pair did not find playoff success, with the Hawks finishing 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 36-46 record this past season. The team hasn’t won a playoff series since their 2021 Eastern Conference Finals appearance.
Dejounte Murray signed a four-year, $114 million extension with Atlanta last offseason, set to commence next year. He will earn $25.3 million next season, with a player option worth $31.3 million for the 2027-28 season.
