Nic Claxton will remain with the Brooklyn Nets, as he will sign a new and improved four year deal worth a $100 million.
The 25-year-old center is set to sign for a guaranteed amount of $96 million. Nic Claxton recorded career highs for the Nets in 2023-24 in rebounds (9.9) and assists (2.1) while scoring 11.8 points per game, the second-best average of his career.
He’s also shown durability the past two seasons, missing a total of 17 games after injuries being a concern early in his career. Claxton appeared in a total of 94 NBA games over his first three seasons.
Claxton began his career in the University of Georgia. He was drafted back in 2019 by the Brooklyn Nets. He obviously likes it there, hence why he will play his sixth consecutive season there.
He is also eligible to play for the US Virgin Islands, because his father was born in the town of St. Thomas.
The Brooklyn based team has lost its best player. Mikal Bridges has left the team and joined their crosstown rivals the New York Knicks.
