It has been officially confirmed today that Nigel Williams Goss and Marius Grigonis will miss the upcoming battle for the first trophy in Greece.
As the Greek Super Cup final showdown between Olympiacos Piraeus and Panathinaikos Athens draws near, both teams have revealed their decisions regarding foreign players who won’t be participating in the upcoming match.
In adherence to the foreign player limit regulations, both teams found themselves having to make a choice. Olympiacos has opted to omit Nigel Williams Goss, the American guard who has returned to Athens to be with his wife for the expected birth of their child.
Consequently, Shaquielle McKissic will step into the roster in place of point guard.
On the other hand, Panathinaikos has chosen to leave out Grigonis, making way for the return of Aleksander Balcerowski to the lineup.
The eagerly anticipated Greek Super Cup final is scheduled to tip off on Saturday at 18:30 CET. In the semifinals, Olympiacos defeated Peristeri, while Panathinaikos emerged victorious against PAOK.
