Nigel Williams-Goss spoke about the Real Madrid vs. Partizan series from last season ahead of the upcoming game against the black-and-white team in the EuroLeague.
Williams-Goss played a crucial role in Madrid’s impressive comeback. Now, he aims to stop the Partizan in a highly important game, this time in the battle for the play-in spot.
“That was a crazy series! We were down two games, and then we came back and won three in a row. It was a big deal, especially since two of those wins were away games. I had a great performance in the third game, saving our season, and then we went on to win the EuroLeague title. That was my biggest goal – winning the championship. Holding the trophy was the most significant moment of my career. Now I’m focused on new challenges and hope to add another one to the collection,” stated Williams-Goss to Meridian sport.
Nigel Williams-Goss, as a former Partizan player, always feels a special connection when facing Belgrade’s team.
“I started my professional career there, played my first games in Europe, and have great memories from my time in the black-and-white jersey. I always enjoy playing in front of their fans, especially in that arena. We’re expecting a very tough game, knowing how important it is for them in the battle for the play-in with just three games left.”
“It’s equally important for us, determining our position at the end of the regular season. Both teams have a lot at stake. The standings are so close, every game is crucial, whether we’re playing to secure home-court advantage in the playoffs or to avoid extra games. The atmosphere will be fantastic with a sold-out arena, and I’m looking forward to a great game,” concluded Williams-Goss.
The duel between the two teams is scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 PM in the “Stark Arena.”
