Nikola Jokic, a player of the Denver Nuggets, has been named the NBA’s best player for the third time and has received the MVP award.
Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic has secured his place among the all-time greats, winning his third MVP award and joining an exclusive club of NBA legends.
Jokic’s impressive season, which saw him average 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game, earned him this individual honor over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks.
With this achievement, Jokic becomes one of only nine players in NBA history to win the MVP award three times, alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, LeBron James, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Moses Malone.
This season’s MVP race was highly anticipated, with a new rule requiring players to appear in at least 65 games to be eligible. Joel Embiid‘s injury absence opened the door for other contenders, including Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum, but Jokic’s consistent excellence ultimately secured the award.
Nikola Jokic won a championship ring with the Denver Nuggets last season. This season, things aren’t going in a positive direction, as the Nuggets are currently trailing 2-0 in the series and not looking good.
