Nikola Jokic, the player of the Denver Nuggets, spoke to TNT after winning the MVP award for the third time in his career.
It was a big day for Nikola Jokic. The Serbian player made history in the NBA with his third MVP award, but he commented on the situation in his own style. He emphasized that it all starts with his teammates, and then he attributed credits to the rest of the organization.
“You have to start with your teammates, you know. Without them, this wouldn’t be possible, and then coaches, players, the organization, medical staff… It’s all one big circle without which I wouldn’t be where I am,” said Jokic.
The Denver Nuggets are currently facing a big challenge against the Minnesota Timberwolves, having lost the first two games. Jokic highlighted that the team has a clear goal for the next game.
“We’ve played against them four times; they’re number one in defense this season. They play well, it’s all part of basketball, they haven’t lost a game in the first round, and now they just continue to play well. We haven’t played our basketball, so that’s our goal to change for the next game.”
The third game of the NBA Western Conference semifinals will be played between Friday and Saturday night.
