Nikola Jokic is known as a near-perfect basketball player who can do it all on the court. Now, a new statistic has emerged that might surprise you.
NBA statistician Tom Whitehead shared on his “X” profile the top 1-on-1 scorers in the NBA this season. Nikola Jokic led the entire league with 492 points on 427 possessions, giving him 1.15 points per isolation possession. Right behind him is Kawhi Leonard, who scored 417 points on 369 possessions (1.13). Third is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 458 points on 406 possessions (1.13).
The TOP 10 list also includes Jaylen Brown, Dejounte Murray, Pascal Siakam, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Luka Doncic.
Although Luka Doncic won the award for the NBA’s leading scorer, in this statistical category, which actually emphasizes the individual offensive ability, the Slovenian ranks only tenth. He had by far the most possessions (633), in which he scored 676 points, which was enough for 1.07 points per possession.
