Nikola Jokic spoke on various topics after the NBA All-Star game played in Indianapolis, where his team lost 211-186.
The Serbian basketball player scored 13 points in his sixth appearance, along with nine assists and four rebounds.
Traditionally, he enjoyed his time on the court and on the bench, cracking jokes with teammates, particularly having a great time over the weekend with Luka Doncic. At one point, the two of them were passing the ball like volleyball players.
“Luka is terrible, he really plays poorly, worse than me,” joked Nikola Jokic.
When asked if there’s a chance for them to play together, he replied, “Well, I don’t know, it’s possible. I don’t really have a desire to leave Denver, but if Luka gets upset…“
Unlike his teammates from the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic didn’t have the opportunity to rest, but he still enjoyed himself.
“We hope so. I didn’t get to rest like they did, but I hope we’ll have a bit better focus, some better energy. Having my family here with me was a good thing. It’s great, a pleasure to share the locker room with such players and the court itself, and the game is just a game. You could see it for yourself, it’s truly a pleasure to be here. I see this as a kind of entertainment, so it was fun,” said Jokić.
Before the game started, during warm-ups, Jokic dunked over Steph Curry.
“Did you see that? I need to see the video. I told Luka to move Steph closer to the rim. I think he was mad at me, and he won’t be sleeping tonight because of it,” Jokic chuckled.
The East defeated the West 211-186 in the All-Star game in Indianapolis, marking the first time in history that one team surpassed 200 points in such games.
The East team made a remarkable 43 three-pointers, with Damian Lillard and Tyrese Haliburton each contributing 10. In the end, Damian Lillard was named MVP, finishing the game with 39 points, including two half-court three-pointers.
