Denver Nuggets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road in Game 4 by 115:107 in the NBA Western Conference semifinals.
The teams started off very efficiently, with Anthony Edwards scoring nine quick points, indicating he’d be unstoppable. However, equally effective, if not better on the other end, was Nikola Jokic, who led his team to parity with a masterful performance. A key player for the Denver Nuggets in those moments was Aaron Gordon, who guarded all the Minnesota Timberwolves’ main players, from Edwards to Karl-Anthony Towns. He also scored points, as did the Colorado team’s reserves, leading the visitors to a staggering 15-point lead, capped off by Jamal Murray’s incredible three-pointer at the end of the half.
Murray couldn’t be stopped. He began hitting extremely difficult shots, matching the unreal performance of Edwards, who was absolutely unstoppable. However, despite that, the home team couldn’t close the gap, mostly due to the exceptional shooting of the Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves tried to make a comeback, but the Nuggets had an answer every time. Jokic dominated with a whopping 16 points in this part of the game. Even when he wasn’t scoring, he always had the right solutions, leading his team to another break and tying the series.
The Nuggets were led to win by the triple MVP Nikola Jokic with 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Aaron Gordon played one of the best games of the season with 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists on an 11/12 shooting. Jamal Murray contributed 19 points. On the losing side, Anthony Edwards was the standout with 44 points. Mike Conley had 15 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The series is now tied at 2-2, and the next game will be played on Wednesday morning in Colorado, starting at 4:30 AM.
