Nikola Jokic, the center of the Denver Nuggets, spoke after the victory in the first game of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Sombor native was once again crucial for the Nuggets. He scored 32 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had seven assists. After the match, he shared his thoughts.
“They started the game better, they had the advantage in the first quarter, and we were down by 3 at halftime. We knew we had to change something. Our defense in the second half was great, and I think we need to play like that if we want to achieve something,” Nikola Jokic said at the beginning.
Then the big Serbian talked about the impact of some of his teammates on defense. He praised one player partcularly.
“I’m just trying to read the game, not forcing anything. I’m trying to find the open teammate. I trust my teammates. We have good defensive players, like Caldwell-Pope and the rest of the team. We just follow the energy and details.”
The next game between the Nuggets and the Lakers will be played in the evening between Monday and Tuesday at 04:00 PM, CET.
