Serbian center Nikola Jokic spoke about the potential participation in the national team at the Olympic Games in Paris next year.
Jokic last wore the national team jersey last year when the Serbian national team was defeated in the EuroBasket round of 16. The Denver Nuggets’ star player then missed the FIBA Basketball World Cup, where the team, coached by Svetislav Pesic, won the silver medal, securing a spot at the Olympic Games.
“Olympics are far away. Some people say I said something, putting words in my mouth. Everyone knows, the first to find out will be the coach. It’s far away for me, it’s the same story every year. When the season ends, I’ll always talk to my family, my team, the coach will be the first to know my decision. Would I like to? It’s very far away,” said Jokic.
The Serbian center had a tumultuous game last night against Chicago Bulls, as he was ejected at the end of the first half after an exchange with the NBA referee.
