Serbian center Nikola Jokic shared his impressions after another dominant performance, this time against the Toronto Raptors.
Jokic did something that no one has ever done in history and led his team to the win in a game where the Denver Nuggets trailed by as much as 22 points.
“When you’re down 20 points, pride kicks in – you don’t want to suffer a defeat, especially not in front of your home crowd. We have a word in Serbian, it’s really hard to translate – that word is ‘inat.’ I really wish I could translate it for you, but I don’t think there’s a translation,” – Nikola Jokic told.
The double MVP of the NBA league league talk about whether the team from Colorado enters games defensively weaker because they know they can compensate for it on the other end of the court.
“I’m not really sure. I think we’re a good defensive team; in most games, our defense is at a very high level. When it’s a tough game, we rely on defense. It was just such a game; they ran a lot and were aggressive, and we were a step or two slower, and in communication as well, especially in the first half,” Nikola Jokic stated.
