Nikola Jokic spoke after the game against the Houston Rockets, in which his team, the Denver Nuggets, lost 114:106.
The reigning champions suffered their third consecutive loss in the NBA. At one point in the fourth quarter, Houston had a lead of 25 points.
“We were trying not to embarrass ourselves,” said Nikola Jokic about the performance in the fourth quarter after the game.
“We had our backs against the wall, and we just wanted to fight. Maybe we need to have that mindset from the beginning. I hope it can help us only to learn from it and be better.”
The Serbian basketball player was the best in his team with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and five assists despite poor shooting percentages of 9/26.
“I took the shots I always take. I didn’t take any crazy shots. The ball just didn’t want to go in,” said Jokic.
