I think we’re, I’ll say, silent giants
You arrived in Denver as a young man, and now you’re married, a family man with a daughter. How would you describe the man you’ve become? And how have you viewed this team and this city as they’ve grown together with you?
“I think we’re, I’ll say, silent giants, if that makes sense. My life is really going uphill, on a personal level, it’s slowly going uphill and I’m really grateful for that. My wife, my child, my whole family are healthy, and I think that’s the most important thing in life, literally.
But even the Denver Nuggets, we don’t make noise, you know, we’re like a wave, just… silent giants.”
I wouldn’t choose any other team
If you could choose another team…?
“No, I think I talked to someone a week or two ago, if I could choose another team now, I would definitely choose the Denver Nuggets. Simply because I think the story is incredible, it’s so unique, and I wouldn’t choose any other team.
I just think it’s bigger than basketball. I think it’s something for which, of course, I’m grateful to basketball and all that. Basketball has given us an incredible life. We live in a great city and all that, but family is like an anchor and it holds us all together.
I have to say, it’s family and the things I do outside of basketball, probably that. Hearing my daughter laughing like crazy, that’s what I love. That’s something you can’t buy. That’s something pure.”
