Nikola Topic spoke out for the first time since being drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 12th pick in this year’s draft.
Sam Presti, the general manager of the Oklahoma City Thunder, highlighted that the young player will likely miss his first season, but the product of Crvena Zvezda suggests that things might be a bit different.
“Not yet. We are taking it slow. I will talk to the team’s doctor and see what is best for me.”
Jalen Williams, his new teammate, stood up and greeted him. He was there because his brother Cody was drafted by the Utah Jazz as the 10th pick.
“It means a lot to me because he accepted me. He stood up and shook my hand. It’s great that he was there.”
In the end, he mentioned that he didn’t know this team would pick him:
“I talked to people from the club a few times, but I haven’t visited Oklahoma yet. Every organization and the people I met were good, and that was the case with Oklahoma. They have a good coach, a general manager, everyone. I’m excited to have met them in person and talked to them,” concluded Nikola Topic.
