Oded Kattash, the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, summed up his impressions for the media representatives after the first-round EuroLeague game against Partizan.
Maccabi was one of the teams last season known for its strong home performances, with just two losses in 17 matches played. In the opening game of the new season, they defeated Partizan with a score of 96-81.
“I’m pleased with our offensive performance; we had a good run. Defensively, we played against a very talented team that has many offensive weapons. It wasn’t easy, and I’m very proud of my players.”
What does a victory against Obradovic mean to Kattash?
“It’s always a pleasure and a matter of respect to play against him. It’s an honor to play against him. Zeljko Obradovic is perhaps the best coach in Europe, and that’s why I’m extremely proud,” said Oded Kattash.
In the next round, the Maccabi Tel Aviv team will be traveling to Italy to face Milan, while Partizan will be visiting ASVEL in Lyon. Before that, they will play a match in the Israeli Premier League against Ironi Kiryat Ata on the weekend.
