Timothe Luwawu returns to his home country, where he signed with Asvel, after an unsuccessful episode in Milano.
The French basketball player didn’t have the best season. After he definitely had to leave the NBA, he decided to return to Europe. Milano was chosen as the ideal destination, but it did not turn out to be the right move.
The idea to replace the absence of Shavon Shields turned out to be bad, which resulted in the parting of the two sides after the end of the Euroleague. He chose Asvel as the right place to get his career back on track, and president Tony Parker was visibly pleased with this decision of the Frenchman:
“It’s a great honor to attract one of the very best French players of the moment. I know Timothe perfectly, and I have no doubts about everything he can bring to the team. I’m very happy he trusts our project, and I can’t wait to see him wear our jersey.“
Luwawu managed to play 24 Euroleague games for Milan, averaging 9.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists for 6.0 PIR. Also, he has six year experience in NBA, where he played for Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, and Brooklyn Nets. During his NBA career, he played 328 games and averaged 5.9 points and two rebounds per game.
