Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are the most successful Greek teams. Combined, they have been champions nine times.
Both teams have qualified for the Final Four in Berlin and have a chance to win the trophy. Olympiacos has been the champion three times so far, while its biggest rival Panathinaikos has lifted the trophy six times.
Interestingly, out of Greek coaches, only two have won the EuroLeague title. Georgios Bartzokas, the current coach of Olympiacos, won the prestigious European club basketball competition with this team in 2013. The other Greek coach who has won the EuroLeague is Dimitris Itoudis, who achieved this feat twice with CSKA Moscow.
Panathinaikos has won all six titles with foreign coaches, and this season will be no exception if they become champions, as they are led by Turkish coach Ergin Ataman, who has promised the seventh title. Zeljko Obradovic has been the champion five times with Panathinaikos, while Bozidar Maljkovic won it once.
Olympiacos will face Real Madrid in the semifinals, while Panathinaikos will compete against Fenerbahce.
