In the second round of the Greek league, Olympiacos won a hard-fought battle against AEK 79-71 on their home turf, securing their second victory.
After a loss to Barcelona at home in the EuroLeague, Olympiacos faced another tough match in their domestic league, but this time they emerged as winners.
Olympiacos managed to establish a double-digit lead at 65-54 after a mini-run in the final minutes of the game, seemingly on their way to a routine victory. However, AEK’s players had other plans. They went on an 11-0 run, tying the game with five and a half minutes left, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.
Three consecutive three-pointers by Giannoulis Larentzakis, Thomas Walkup, and Isaiah Canaan proved to be decisive, giving the home team a 78-69 lead, ultimately sealing the fate of the game.
Alek Peters was the top scorer for the winning team with 16 points, Larentzakis contributed 14, Kostas Papanikolaou had 11, and Nikola Milutinov added nine points and nine rebounds.
For AEK, Mindaugas Kuzminskas led the way with 23 points, followed by Jordan McRae with 11 and Justin Tilman with 10 points.
Promitheas secured a home victory against Karditsa with a score of 87-75.
Anthony Cowan led the winning team with 15 points, while Jaime Echenique and Linos Chrysikopoulos each contributed 13 points. On the opposing side, Nikos Diplaros scored 18 points, and Shaq Buchanan added 16.
