Olympiacos convincingly defeated Peristeri 87-74 in the latest match of the eighth round of the Greek Basketball League.
The Reds aimed to quickly break the resistance of Vasilis Spanoulis‘ team, and they succeeded in that mission. In the first ten minutes, they made a 10-0 run, taking a 24-10 lead and gaining momentum.
The same scenario unfolded in the second quarter. They once again created a decisive run against the team from the suburbs of Athens. Bartzokas’ men reached a 15-point lead for the first time, but the halftime score settled at 43-33.
Olympiacos maintained a significant lead until the end of the game, with Peristeri making occasional comebacks. However, the difference remained consistently in double digits, and the Piraeus team rightfully secured their seventh victory in the domestic league.
Thomas Walkup stood out, scoring 21 points and providing five assists. He was closely followed by Isaiah Canaan and Alec Peters, both contributing 14 points each. On the opposing side, Trevor Thompson impressed with 15 points and nine rebounds.
