Olympiacos managed to overcome Kolossos Rhodes after a tough first half, securing a win by 71:52 on the road, in the Greek League Round 14th.
After playing 14 games, the red-and-white team from Piraeus holds the second position in the standings with a record of 13 wins and 1 loss. Only Panathinaikos is ahead of them, and the Athens-based “Greens” are still undefeated in the domestic championship.
The first half at the “Peace and Friendship” arena was notably modest, as indicated by the score of 14:11 after the initial ten minutes. However, in the second quarter, the visiting team staged a comeback and took the lead at 32:27.
Olympiacos turned the tide in the third quarter by hitting nine out of 15 field goal attempts, securing their largest advantage up to that point (50:44) heading into the final quarter. In the last 10 minutes, the Reds demonstrated their quality and ultimately celebrated a convincing win by 71:52.
The most effective player in the triumph of the Reds was Nikola Milutinov, contributing 18 points along with 15 rebounds. Alec Peters added 15 points, while on the opposing side, Andrew Goudelock stood out with 14 points.
It’s worth noting that Olympiacos played this match with a considerably mixed lineup. Moustapha Fall, Shaquille McKissic, and Luke Sikma did not participate, attributed to the restrictions on the number of foreign players in the domestic league.
