Olympiacos defeated Panathinaikos on their home court by 92:86 in Game 2 of the Greek Basket League final series.
Ergin Ataman had all his players available for this game, while the team from Piraeus could not count on Moustapha Fall, who ended his season due to injury.
The visiting team opened the game better, at one point in the first quarter gaining a seven-point lead (24:17). However, Olympiacos ended the quarter with a 4:0 run, reducing the difference to just 3 points in favor of Ergin Ataman’s team.
The current European champion played better again, with an excellent performance and a 7:0 run to achieve an 8-point lead (36:28), the largest lead any team had up to that point. However, the home team responded with a 10:0 run, leveling the game once more. At halftime, the score was 39:38 in favor of Panathinaikos.
The third quarter completely belonged to the red and whites from Piraeus. A 19:3 run in the middle of this period gave them a maximum lead of 60:46. Panathinaikos did not give up and played much better defense by the end of the quarter, reducing the deficit to 62:55.
Panathinaikos tried to make a comeback, but Georgios Bartzokas‘ team always had a ready answer and ultimately secured another win, taking a 2-0 lead in the series. Towards the end of the game, Kostas Sloukas and Isaiah Canaan got into an argument, with Ergin Ataman intervening. Ataman was also ejected from this game due to two technical fouls.

The top scorer in the winning team was Nigel Williams-Goss with 19 points, followed by Nikola Milutinov with 17 points. Also contributing in double digits were Isaiah Canaan with 16 points, Alec Peters with 15, and Kostas Papanikolaou with 11 points.
For Panathinaikos, Mathias Lessort led with 21 points, while Kendrick Nunn added 13 points. Kostas Sloukas finished the game with 12 points.
The next game will be played on June 10th in Athens, with Panathinaikos as the host.
