Olympiacos has booked their spot in the Greek Cup final. Georgios Bartzokas’ team was dominant in the semifinal, defeating Promitheas 91-77.
The Greek champions started the game strong, taking a 9-2 lead early on. Promitheas responded and narrowed the gap to just one point. However, with a strong finish to the first quarter, Bartzokas‘ team pulled ahead to an eight-point lead.
Promitheas performed better in the second quarter. Their energy and defense brought them back into the game, and they took the lead 30-28 midway through the period. However, Olympiacos finished the first half strongly, going into halftime with a 40-36 lead.
At the beginning of the second half, Promitheas managed to equalize. However, Olympiacos quickly responded. With excellent play on both ends of the court, they pulled away and by the end of the third quarter, they had built a 15-point lead.
In the final ten minutes, there weren’t any major excitements. Promitheas didn’t give up, but they couldn’t close the gap. Bartzokas’ team managed to finish the job without much trouble.
Filip Petrusev led his Olympiacos team in this game, finishing with 15 points. On the other side, Anthony Cowan scored 20 points.
Olympiacos will face Panathinaikos in the final, who defeated Aris 76-65 in the first semifinal. The game for the trophy is scheduled for Sunday.
